- Updated on 30 Mar 2022
The Employment Credit Check reviews financial history insights, including notifications of bankruptcies, unpaid bills from collection agencies, credit and payment history records, and other credit inquiries made on the candidate.
The results include some or all of the following information:
- Names and addresses of current and previous employers
- Notifications of bankruptcies
- Positions and dates of employment at current and previous employers
- A record of the individual's credit and payment history
- Any unpaid bills turned over to a collection agency
- Other credit inquiries that have been made on the candidate
Please note that an Employment Credit Report will not include the candidate's credit score.
The Employment Credit Check reports up to 7 years of history for credit information and up to 10 years of history for bankruptcies.
The Employment Credit Report can be added on to any of GoodHire's available background checks.
If no records are found, the Employment Credit Report will simply display clear. It will list the candidate's employment history, as well as any financial history and credit inquiries.
If there are any bankruptcy or other records that match the candidate's name and date of birth, they will be displayed in the results tab of the Employment Credit Report.
Turnaround time for the Employment Credit Check is instant.
In order to qualify for running credit checks, employers must go through a credentialing process, in which they must pass a 6 question screening survey and an onsite inspection. The inspection costs a one-time fee of $79.99 and takes 3 to 5 business days to complete. For more information on the credentialing process, please refer to the Credentialing Process page
If a candidate has a credit freeze or fraud alert on file, then they must provide us with a PIN to finish the check.
If an employer decides to cancel an onsite inspection, the employer must notify our customer support team at email@example.com.
